A market leader in the construction services industry is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic in the GTA. The Light/Heavy Equipment Repair Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing and diagnosing of electrical/hydraulic/diesel construction equipment for repair. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing company with career advancement, training & development with competitive wages plus a bonus opportunity. Uniform and boots allowance will also be provided.


As a key member of the Mechanic Team, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 

·     Performing Hazard Assessments

·     Hoisting & Rigging

·     Providing maintenance support to a continuous process manufacturing plant

·     Performing a range of maintenance functions from simple repairs to complex equipment rebuilds

·     Mentoring junior technicians as they perform maintenance

·     Performing root cause failure analysis

·     Taking initiative to identify, maintain, and repair equipment issues

·     Troubleshooting & problem solving

·     Complete work in a timely manner to meet production commitments

 

Your work history should include experience with most, if not all of the following types of equipment:

 

·     Pneumatics

·     Conveying systems

·     Air compressors

·     Natural gas systems

·     Hydraulics

·     Dust collectors

·     High volume fans

·     Pumps

·     Piping

·     Rigging

·     Power transmission (motors, gearboxes, etc..)

·     Welding/fabricating

·     Industrial controls

 

Requirements:

 

·     Certified 421A Mechanic would be an asset but not a must.

·     3yrs+ experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment

·     Strong working knowledge on safe work practices (such as lock-tag-try, fall protection, and hazard assessments)

·     Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·     Ability to work with minimal supervision independently or in a group

·     Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
