Market Leader – Residential HVAC Products

Our client is an established and growing company in the HVAC products, equipment, and distribution industry. They support contractors, dealers, and trade customers with a broad range of HVAC products, parts, supplies, and related solutions used across residential, light commercial, and replacement markets.


This Market Leader role is focused on leading sales growth, market development, customer engagement, and team development for the company’s established residential HVAC product lines. The role is well suited to a seasoned HVAC sales leader who understands the contractor and dealer channel, can grow market share, and can help develop the next generation of leaders within the business.


The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in HVAC sales leadership, residential HVAC distribution, contractor sales, dealer development, territory leadership, or regional market leadership. This is a true player-coach role and requires someone who is comfortable leading from the front, supporting customer relationships, coaching sales teams, developing people, and driving disciplined market execution.


Compensation: $150k-$180k base salary plus bonus. Total compensation will vary based on experience, market responsibility, team scope, customer base, and sales performance.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead sales growth and market development for the company’s established residential HVAC product portfolio.
  • Develop and execute market strategies focused on revenue growth, market share, customer engagement, margin improvement, and product penetration.
  • Act as a player-coach by working closely with sales representatives, branch leaders, and customer-facing teams.
  • Support key customer relationships, strategic account development, contractor engagement, and dealer growth.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop sales professionals, branch team members, and emerging leaders within the business.
  • Build strong relationships with HVAC contractors, dealers, builders, renovators, trade customers, and key industry partners.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts, reactivate underdeveloped customers, and win new business from competitors.
  • Partner with branch operations, inside sales, customer service, product leadership, pricing, marketing, and senior management to drive strong execution.
  • Monitor market activity, competitor positioning, customer buying patterns, pricing trends, product demand, and regional growth opportunities.
  • Support territory planning, pipeline management, forecasting, account strategy, and sales performance reviews.
  • Help create a culture of accountability, teamwork, customer focus, urgency, and continuous improvement.
  • Support customer events, product education, dealer engagement initiatives, promotional strategies, and field sales activity.
  • Ensure sales and branch teams are aligned around business goals, customer service expectations, and long-term growth objectives.
  • Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, supplier events, trade shows, and industry functions.
  • Help identify, develop, and prepare future leaders for larger roles within the organization.


Requirements:


  • Significant experience in the HVAC industry, ideally within residential HVAC distribution, contractor sales, dealer sales, branch leadership, regional sales, or market development.
  • Proven experience leading sales teams, developing people, growing market share, and driving business performance.
  • Strong understanding of residential HVAC products, replacement markets, contractor relationships, dealer networks, and distribution channels.
  • Experience managing or influencing sales representatives, branch teams, territory managers, account executives, or customer-facing teams.
  • Strong ability to coach, mentor, inspire, and develop people.
  • Comfortable operating as both a strategic sales leader and hands-on field leader.
  • Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships, convert business, strengthen accounts, and support long-term customer loyalty.
  • Strong commercial understanding of revenue growth, gross margin, pricing, product mix, customer retention, and market share.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, inside sales, customer service, product, pricing, finance, marketing, and senior leadership.
  • Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, competitive, organized, accountable, and results-oriented.
  • Comfortable with regular travel throughout the assigned market.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Experience using CRM systems, sales reporting tools, Microsoft Office, or related business technology would be considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in business, sales, marketing, HVAC, engineering, or a related field would be considered an asset.
