The Director of Project Management Position

The Director of Project Management provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for the Project Management Department. This position leads, mentors, supervises, and develops Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers, and Senior Project Managers while serving as a senior client relationship manager and executive point of contact for key clients and partners. The Director of Project Management monitors project health, resource allocation, staffing needs, and workload balancing across the department. The role maintains and improves project management standards, procedures, training programs, and best practices. It drives the adoption of construction technology and innovation, and collaborates with Preconstruction, Field Operations, Accounting, Safety, and Human Resources to improve organizational effectiveness and project performance. The Director of Project Management is responsible for achieving quality, safety, schedule, and financial objectives.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• A minimum of 15 years of progressive construction project management experience, including at least 5 years of leadership experience managing and developing project management professionals.
• A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success leading large, complex construction projects and portfolios.
• Strong understanding of construction operations, financial management, scheduling, contracts, risk management, and project controls.
• Exceptional client relationship and communication skills.
• Experience implementing organizational change and process improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to promote technology adoption and operational innovation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and construction management software platforms.
• LEED Accreditation, OSHA Certification, or similar credentials preferred.
