The VP of Finance Position

The VP of Finance is the organization's senior financial leader and a key member of the Leadership Team. This position partners closely with the President of Lucia Landscaping, OneTeam 365, and Lakeside Pro Services to provide the financial discipline, insight, and executive presence needed to guide the company through significant growth. The VP of Finance builds the financial infrastructure and reporting needed to measure each branch as its own business unit. The position leads branch-level P&L reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow and working capital management, KPI reporting, financial controls, and operational finance, and supports acquisition due diligence and integration.

This is not a traditional Controller role focused primarily on historical reporting; the organization is seeking a forward-looking financial leader who can help design the economic model, capital strategy, and financial infrastructure required to scale Lucia into a significantly larger multi-branch platform.

The position partners closely with operations, sales, and company leadership to improve job costing, pricing, and profitability, and is accountable for holding operational leaders to financial performance. Ideal candidates have the desire and aptitude to continue growing their career with the organization, which could potentially include the opportunity to elevate to a Chief Financial Officer position.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Architect and implement a scalable branch financial model that establishes clear economic targets for each location, including revenue, gross margin, labor productivity, overhead, EBITDA, working capital, and return on invested capital.
• Lead the financial strategy supporting growth to 10x through organic expansion and M&A, including acquisition modeling, valuation, due diligence, financing, integration planning, and post-acquisition performance measurement.
• Partner with the President and Leadership Team on capital allocation and long-range financial planning, translating financial performance into actionable decisions around people, equipment, technology, new markets, service-line expansion, and acquisitions.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities of the VP of Finance

• 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience (including senior Controller, VP of Finance, or CFO-level roles) is required
• Experience in a multi-branch or multi-location service organization is required
• Demonstrated success scaling a company through a significant growth stage
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• CPA and/or MBA is preferred
• Strong experience with branch-level P&Ls, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow and working capital, and KPI reporting
• Experience supporting acquisitions, including due diligence, valuation, and post-acquisition integration
• Polished executive presence and the ability to hold operational leaders accountable to financial results
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with experience implementing or optimizing accounting/ERP systems
• Private equity-backed or PE-style reporting experience preferred
