The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function while leading the transformation, rebuilding, and long-term development of the department. This role serves as the primary HR resource for the organization, managing core HR functions such as payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, recruiting, compliance, onboarding, and leadership support, while simultaneously evaluating and enhancing the overall HR infrastructure.
During the first 12–18 months, a significant focus will be placed on assessing the current state of HR operations, identifying opportunities for improvement, mitigating organizational risk, and establishing scalable processes that support future growth. This individual will be responsible for creating and documenting policies and procedures, redesigning HR workflows, improving consistency across people processes, and building a stronger foundation for the HR function.
Key initiatives during the rebuilding phase will include modernizing the employee handbook; documenting and streamlining processes related to payroll, benefits administration, leave management, ADA accommodations, employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and leadership development; and implementing practical solutions that increase efficiency, consistency, and compliance throughout the organization.
While leading these strategic initiatives, the Human Resources Manager will remain actively involved in the daily execution of HR responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR leader who thrives in autonomous environments, enjoys building and improving processes, and can independently drive initiatives from concept through implementation.
