Our client is a commercial construction Company located in Livingston County. This high-growth business is family-owned and has a self-perform trade force of over 100 employees, providing support to clients around Michigan. The Controller Position

The Company is looking to add an experienced Controller to its team. The Controller will be responsible for leading and supporting the accounting and finance-related duties for the Company. This includes, but is not limited to, reconciling the general ledger, extensive job costing, budgeting, forecasting financial data, maintaining the accounting systems, preparing financial statements, interfacing with the third-party CPA and audit firm, working with the banking and bonding partners, and anything and everything else that comes up in the Accounting & Finance area.  

 

The ideal candidate will be capable of seeing the big picture while also staying detail-focused and dedicated to keeping all financial processes running smoothly. Leading a staff of four, the Controller must be motivated to build a high-performance culture, be a leader to the team, and to deliver exceptional financial results.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Construction industry experience is strongly preferred, but not required
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, including supporting financial statement preparation and job costing
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people and processes in a fast-paced environment

 

Compensation and Benefits for the Controller Position

This is a full-time position with a competitive pay rate, based on skills and experience. The compensation package also includes an annual bonus plan, deferred compensation plan, medical benefits, profit sharing and paid time off.

 

The Recruitment Process for the Controller Position
