Electrical Engineering Manager

The Electrical Engineering Manager (PE) is a vital member of Team UIS’s leadership group, specializing in Arc Flash Studies and responsible for managing the growing engineering team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality power system studies, including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analyses, while mentoring engineers and ensuring technical excellence.

This position oversees project deliverables, drives system performance improvements, and serves as a trusted technical expert for both clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of IEEE and NEC standards, proficiency in SKM PowerTools, and extensive hands-on experience performing complex electrical studies.


Education, Experience and Qualifications for the Electrical Engineering Manager

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Active Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
  • Proven expertise in IEEE and NEC standards
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, including one-lines, riser diagrams, and panel schedules
  • Experience performing 50+ short circuit, protective device coordination, or arc flash analysis studies
  • Proficiency in SKM PowerTools and AutoCAD; familiarity with ETAP or EasyPower a plus
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
