The Shop & Field Mechanic Lead Position
The Shop & Field Mechanic Lead oversees equipment maintenance, repairs, and mechanic teams while ensuring seamless communication with project managers, superintendents, field personnel, and others. This role requires a combination of hands-on technical expertise and leadership skills to be successful.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading safety procedures and initiatives for equipment
- Develop, implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program
- Manage field and shop mechanics
- Oversee purchasing stock parts
- Communicate with project managers and superintendents regarding equipment issues, concerns or needs
- Conduct full-scope equipment repairs
The role is required to visit jobsites a minimum of one day every other week, as well as attend at least one leadership or professional growth seminar per year.
Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the Shop & Field Mechanic Lead Position
- 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, fleet management, or a similar role
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Hands-on mechanical expertise with heavy equipment
- Familiarity with safety regulations and preventative maintenance best practices
- Ability to manage teams and communicate effectively

This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary based on skills and experience.
