Ernie's On The Creek is a new riverfront open-concept dining experience nestled on the Paint Creek river in Downtown Rochester, MI. Under the same ownership as the Rochester Corner Bar, this new location is opening soon in Spring 2024! Ernie’s On The Creek will feature a Mediterranean food menu paired with craft cocktail drinks to compliment the overall customer experience.

 

Ernie’s is looking for a Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef that will lead employees to providing exceptional customer service and experience in the next exciting phase of growth for the team.

The Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef Position

Ernie’s is looking for a Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef to oversee Ernie’s kitchen and back of house staff, maintain successful customer experience, including managing and training employees, managing work schedules, coordinating kitchen orders and supplies, reviewing events and reservations with the host, ensuring health and safety is top priority, reviewing financial statements to maintain profitability, managing suppliers, inventory, assist in the hiring process, etc.

 

For an individual to be successful as the Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef, they need to have a high level of enthusiasm and passion for their work, ability to be self-motivating, business savvy, and maintain good leadership. 

 

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef Position

·       Management experience in the Food & Beverage industry is preferred

·       Strong leadership and motivational skills

·       Strong time management skills

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills that foster collaboration, and teamwork

·       Knowledge of industry health and safety standards

·       Strong customer service skills

·       Software experience in POS, Microsoft Office, and Liquor Control System

 

Compensation, Benefits, & Structure for the Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef Position

This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a competitive salary and growth potential within the company. The Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef reports to the Executive Chef.
