The Accountant Position

The Accountant provides finance and accounting support across the organization, with a focus on maintaining accurate financial records, completing reconciliations, and supporting month-end closing activities. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, gain exposure to multiple areas of the business, and grow within a stable, expanding organization.

 

The Accountant plays an important role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and will collaborate with internal teams to support timely and effective financial reporting.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Accountant Position include:

  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
  • Complete balance sheet and account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close and financial reporting processes
  • Assist with payroll processing and reporting
  • Support audits, ad-hoc reporting, and financial analysis as needed
  • Maintain accurate records across accounting systems, including NetSuite and QuickBooks
  • Partner with internal teams, including operations, to support accounting and financial needs

 

This role is well-suited for an accountant seeking to deepen technical accounting skills, gain exposure to systems and process improvement, and grow into increased responsibility over time through mentorship and hands-on experience.

 

Preferred Experience, Skills & Abilities for the Accountant Position

  • At least five years of general accounting and/or finance experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks (Online) strongly preferred
  • Experience with ADP is preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability
  • Experience in shipping and warehousing environments is preferred but not required

 

Compensation, Benefits & Structure of the Accountant Position

This position offers competitive compensation based on skills and experience, along with a comprehensive benefits and retirement package.

 

The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and requires an on-site presence in the company’s headquarters in Livingston County, MI.
