Job Title: Stock Controller

Location: Hugden Way, Malton, YO17 9HG

Pay/Salary: £13.06/hour, £27,164.80/annum

Start Date: ASAP

Working Hours/Shift Pattern Monday- Friday, 8:30am - 5pm, 40 hours, 30 min break per day


Type of Employment: 12 weeks temporary to permanent (9-week ‘probation period’ of the temp contract then permanent position will be offered at 12 weeks)

 

Main duties & responsibilities:

·       Use order book to expedite orders and speak to suppliers on a daily basis to ensure orders are on schedule

·       Placing orders within necessary timeframes, ensuring best lead time, price and delivery times

·       Assist stores colleagues with booking in goods/deliveries, correctly allocating stock into the storeroom

·       Providing excellent customer service and assistance to the engineers on-site who attend the office

·       Completing necessary steps to enable any non-stocked parts to be sourced, assessing price, lead time and delivery speed and uploaded to the stock systems

·       Ordering stock required from suppliers

·       Complete manual handling of stock from deliveries to storeroom including heavier items such as motors, pumps, gas bottles

 

Essential skills / experience / qualifications:

·       Competent in basic IT Skills – monitoring emails, data entry, using the stock ordering systems

·       Must be comfortable in a fast-paced and high-pressured environment

·       Must have excellent communication skills and comfortable in a customer-facing role

·       Experience in storerooms /stores activities desirable but not essential, preferred for familiarity with the working environment

·       Be able to meet the physical demands of the manual handling required in the role

·       Prior experience in procurement or office environments, more so in an engineering, supply chain, MRO environment highly beneficial but not essential

·       The manager is open to background/experience (e.g. if more stores/warehouse, you must have the IT and communication skills necessary, if more from an ‘admin’ background, you must be comfortable with the more ‘hands-on’ aspects of the role.) - Skills can be transferrable

·       Candidates must be open to the manual handling / physical demands of the role

·       How big is the team? 4 in team including this role, 3 in office and one in stores room, who deals with deliveries and goods-in
