Project Engineer
The Role
This position would be ideal for design engineers who are looking to take a step into project management for the fire sprinkler industry. You must be confident in using AutoCAD 2D software as well as hydraulic calculation software, a long with an understanding of small-scale projects.
Project Engineer
Main Responsibilities
- Managing minor installations, system modifications, and remedial works
- Reviewing and producing technical drawings and specifications
- Coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Attending site visits, client meetings, and handovers
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Preparing risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH documentation
- Supporting junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement
Project Engineer
The Candidate
- 3+ years’ experience in fire protection, building services, or similar
- Familiarity with BSEN 12845, BS9251, NFPA, or FM Global standards
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and hydraulic calculation software (e.g., FHC)
- Revit experience is a bonus but not essential
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, customer-focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple small projects simultaneously
- Must be able to do UK wide travel and overnight stays
