Project Engineer

The Role

This position would be ideal for design engineers who are looking to take a step into project management for the fire sprinkler industry. You must be confident in using AutoCAD 2D software as well as hydraulic calculation software, a long with an understanding of small-scale projects.

 

Project Engineer

Main Responsibilities

  • Managing minor installations, system modifications, and remedial works
  • Reviewing and producing technical drawings and specifications
  • Coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Attending site visits, client meetings, and handovers
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
  • Preparing risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH documentation
  • Supporting junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement

 

Project Engineer

The Candidate

  • 3+ years’ experience in fire protection, building services, or similar
  • Familiarity with BSEN 12845, BS9251, NFPA, or FM Global standards
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and hydraulic calculation software (e.g., FHC)
  • Revit experience is a bonus but not essential
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach
  • Ability to manage multiple small projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to do UK wide travel and overnight stays
