Job Title: Quality Manager

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality Manager with a strong manufacturing background, ideally within the electrical engineering or steel industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing our Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001, overseeing quality performance, and embedding robust processes as the company continues to grow and evolve.
This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to engage directly with customers and internal teams to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained across the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 standards.
• Develop and maintain operating manuals, procedures, and documentation to support business growth and continuous improvement.
• Plan, lead, and manage internal audits and ensure the business is prepared for customer and third-party audits.
• Oversee and coordinate NCR (Non-Conformance Report) processes, ensuring clear traceability through production.
• Apply structured problem-solving techniques such as 5 Whys and 8D processes to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
• Engage directly with customers on quality matters, providing professional support and solutions.
• Monitor and report on quality performance, driving improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
• Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the business.
• Support Lean initiatives and drive efficiency through Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Take part in month-end stock control activities when required.
Skills & Experience Required
• Proven experience as a Quality Manager (or senior quality role) within a manufacturing environment – ideally electrical engineering, steel, or a related industry.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience of ISO 9001 QMS management and implementation.
• Knowledge of structured problem-solving techniques (5 Whys, 8D).
• Experience coordinating NCR reporting and ensuring robust traceability within production.
• Strong problem-solving and practical implementation skills with a hands-on approach.
• Demonstrable experience engaging directly with customers on quality-related matters.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Lean Six Sigma (or similar) certification highly desirable.
• Technical/engineering background preferred.
What We Offer
• Competitive salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum.
• Working week of 39.5 hours:
• Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm or 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Friday: Early finish at either 12:30pm or 1:30pm
