Company Core Strengths Our local presence, connection to customers, and entrepreneurial spirit enable West Nova Fuels to deliver unmatched service and build lasting trust, making us the preferred choice in the industry.

Dependable, community-oriented, and responsive to the unique needs of Nova Scotians, the company takes pride in doing things right.

On their behalf, we are seeking a strategic and hands-on Manager, Sales & Business Development to lead the commercial and residential fuels sales function across Central and Western Nova Scotia. Reporting to the General Manager, this role carries accountability for revenue growth, margin performance, customer acquisition, and retention. The Manager, Sales & Business Development will play a critical role in shaping and executing the company’s sales strategy while building and leading a high-performing team.

This is a leadership role that blends strategy with execution. You will be responsible for developing both short and long-term sales plans aligned with company objectives, while actively coaching and supporting your team in the field. From managing territories and sales targets to overseeing lead development and funnel performance, you will bring structure, discipline, and data-driven decision making to the sales function. You will also champion the effective use of CRM tools, ensuring accurate reporting, strong adoption across the team, and clear visibility into performance metrics.

Beyond team leadership, the Manager, Sales & Business Development will oversee marketing initiatives that support growth, including campaigns, digital presence, and community engagement efforts. You will collaborate closely with operations, finance, and customer service to ensure a seamless customer experience from initial contact through onboarding and ongoing service. Maintaining strong relationships with key accounts and staying informed on market trends and competitive activity across Nova Scotia will be essential in shaping strategy and identifying opportunities.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in B2B or field sales, with 8+ years of experience, including proven success leading and developing teams. You are a confident communicator and collaborator who can translate business goals into clear, actionable plans. You are equally comfortable in the field with your team as you are reviewing pipeline metrics or refining processes. A results-oriented mindset, strong accountability, and a genuine focus on customer relationships will set you apart.

Experience within fuel distribution, petroleum, propane, or related industrial sectors is considered an asset, though candidates with strong transferable experience will be considered. A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly within Nova Scotia are required.

West Nova Fuels offers a competitive compensation and benefits package along with the opportunity to play a meaningful leadership role within a respected, community-driven organization.

If you are a driven sales leader who thrives on building teams, driving performance, and contributing to long-term growth, we would welcome your interest. Please submit your application to Hawthorne Recruitment, where we are committed to matches made meaningful.
