Director / Senior Director / Head of Growth Marketing

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid Preferred) — East Coast Remote Considered

Full-Time • U.S. Based • Growth-Stage Sustainability Tech

Are you a demand-generation builder who thrives on creating full-funnel growth engines at mission-driven SaaS companies? Our client is a fast-growing sustainability and compliance platform helping consumer brands reduce environmental footprint, meet complex packaging regulations, and create real-world social impact. Backed by strong Series A funding and a global team of ~90 employees, they are scaling rapidly — and hiring a Director/Senior Director/Head of Growth Marketing to architect and execute the next phase of their growth engine.

This is a highly visible, high-impact role reporting directly to the COO. You’ll own strategy and determine your execution model — whether that’s partnering with agencies or building a team in-house. With an existing Marketing Manager to manage day one, you’ll have the autonomy and resources to build a powerhouse demand-gen function from the ground up.

If you’re hungry, analytical, entrepreneurial, and energized by mission + scale — this is that rare opportunity to build, own, and grow something meaningful.

What You’ll Do

Demand Generation Ownership

  • Build and lead a multi-channel demand-gen engine across email, paid media, webinars, events, retargeting, SEO, content, partnerships, and thought leadership
  • Open the top of the funnel and nurture prospects through mid- and lower-funnel journeys
  • Create scalable programs that educate, engage, convert, and retain mid-market customers

Funnel Design & Optimization

  • Architect the full marketing funnel across acquisition, nurture, and retention
  • Define TOFU/MOFU/BOFU movements, scoring, lifecycle stages, and attribution logic
  • Deeply leverage CRM data (HubSpot) to optimize conversion rates and pipeline quality

Content & Campaign Leadership

  • Own the creation of collateral, case studies, whitepapers, newsletters, infographics, gated content, and webinar programs
  • Develop a consistent content engine that fuels pipeline and thought leadership

Performance Tracking & Growth Acceleration

  • Own the KPIs that drive logo acquisition and long-term customer value
  • Run A/B tests, channel experiments, and competitive analyses to find new paths for growth
  • Regularly review and refine strategies based on performance insights

Channel Strategy & Budget Ownership

  • Own and manage and determine the marketing budget to reach goals
  • Allocate spend across programs, channels, and agency partners
  • Evaluate and onboard external execution partners as needed

Team & Cross-Functional Partnerships

  • Manage and mentor an existing Marketing Manager (India-based)
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Legal, Operations, Data, and Sustainability teams
  • Become the connective tissue between GTM motions and business outcomes

Who You Are

Must-Have Experience

  • 8–10+ years in B2B SaaS growth or demand generation (agency or brand side)
  • Proven experience running multi-channel demand-gen programs
  • Experience managing a marketing budget of at least $100K+ annually
  • Some people management experience
  • Based in NYC or East Coast
  • A builder with perseverance — quick wins won’t happen here
  • Strong strategic ability paired with willingness to roll up your sleeves

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in Series A–B startups or acting as one of the first marketing hires
  • Background in CPG, Food & Beverage, sustainability, or compliance (not required)
  • Familiarity with mid-market sales motions
  • Experience with HubSpot, GA4, and similar analytics tools
  • Demonstrated growth within an organization (tenure progression, expanded scope, etc.)
  • Player/coach mindset — you can lead the strategy AND get into the execution

ICP Knowledge (Nice, Not Required)

Experience working with:

  • Mid-market consumer brands ($5M–$50M revenue)
  • Stakeholders such as Legal, Ops, Product, Data, or Sustainability leaders

Why This Role Is Unique

  • Reporting directly to the COO — real influence and visibility

  • Ability to build a team as pipeline and programs expand
  • Mission-driven business creating environmental and social impact
  • High-priority, exclusive search — only one firm engaged

  • A chance to be the growth engine for a fast-scaling category leader
