Job Description
For a major player in the industrial and manufacturing sector, we are looking for an IT & Telco Buyer to manage end-to-end procurement activities within complex project environments. You will work closely with project managers, lead buyers, and technical stakeholders to define purchasing strategies and deliver optimized contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full IT & Telco procurement lifecycle, from purchasing strategy definition to contract execution
- Select and manage vendors for tendering processes
- Lead RFQs and tender processes to ensure optimal quality, availability, pricing, and total cost of ownership
- Deploy and use purchasing productivity tools (e-RFQ, e-sourcing)
- Ensure procurement timelines are respected
- Lead negotiations to maximize purchasing performance
- Draft and manage contracts in line with general conditions and procurement governance
- Coordinate supplier evaluation processes within your scope
- Perform cost analysis, benchmarks, and identify synergies across projects
- Manage contract lifecycle and local procurement categories (including subcontracting)
- Support cluster-level operational and demand visibility
- Coordinate and guide delegated buyers within assigned clusters
- Contribute to master planning and execution
- Maintain accurate activity tracking and reporting
- Act as subject matter expert in at least one category: Services/Offshoring or Hardware/Telco
Profile
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ease in working with numbers
- Solid knowledge of contract management, procurement systems, and negotiation
- Experience in project-based procurement environments
- Strong stakeholder and people management skills
- Interest in market analysis and innovative industry trends
- Knowledge of quality management standards (ISO 9001) is a plus
- Experience negotiating with tier-1 HW, Telco, or Services suppliers
- Proficiency with SAP (hosted solutions, e-catalogs); strong Excel skills required
- Experience with procurement front-end tools (e.g. Ivalua) is a plus
- Master’s degree in purchasing, engineering, supply chain, or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus
