Power BI Expert — Temporary Contractor Request

Location: Onsite Antwerp (hybrid – minimum 2 days/week)

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Expert who will act as the driving force behind our Power BI environment and help elevate the team to the next level. You are the go-to specialist who provides guidance, hands-on support, and helps establish, manage, and implement best practices within Power BI Cloud.

You are comfortable building robust and scalable data models, sharing knowledge, and supporting our transition towards Microsoft Fabric. This role involves both strategic advisory work and deep, practical technical support.

Key Objectives

Best Practices Development & Advocacy

• Develop and apply best practices for semantic models and complex reporting.
• Guide, challenge, and coach colleagues to adopt and follow these standards.
• Provide hands-on support with technical challenges in Power BI Cloud.
• Actively contribute to internal knowledge sharing and training initiatives.
• Participate in developing and rolling out semantic models and reports.
• Support the implementation and adoption of Microsoft Fabric.

Profile & Experience

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of Power BI, DAX, and semantic modeling.
• Experience with governance and performance optimisation.
• Proven experience with enterprise-level Power BI implementations (financial-sector experience is a plus, but not required).
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with various database systems.

Personal Skills

• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Hands-on attitude with practical, real-world experience.
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
• Excellent communication skills and experience delivering training sessions.
• Demonstrated ability to create clear documentation and guidelines.

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Power BI certification.

Industry Knowledge

• Strong data knowledge is required.
• Insurance domain knowledge is a plus (but not mandatory).
