Description:

A new build involves an automated installation of an operating system for deployment on various hardware types. A build consists of:

• Operating system and patches.
• Standard applications.
• Standard settings and policies.
• Automated installation and configuration of the entire system.
• Selection and elaboration of installation method and medium.
• The above tasks are part of the activities covered by the SLA agreement. These tasks may be extended with "customization," but such extensions cannot be included in the SLA arrangements. In our company customization applies to every build.

Examples of these extended tasks include scripting (batch files, VBS, and PowerShell), automating installations using the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, configuring in the desktop management system (Zenworks Configuration Management), adjusting standard OS functionalities, and more.
