Senior Data Analyst – Banking & Financial Services

Location: Brussels (Hybrid – 50% remote)

Start Date: 01 December 2025


Context

A leading institution in the banking and financial services industry is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support its Operational Permanent Control (OPC) division. This team is responsible for identifying and assessing operational risks, executing controls, and driving transformation initiatives across multiple business lines — Retail, Corporate, Private Banking, and Central Functions.

Within a broader transformation program, the Data & Tooling track aims to design a sustainable and high-performing technological ecosystem through advanced data modelling, analytics, and workflow optimization.


Responsibilities

  • Review and redesign the data model underpinning the department’s control execution tool.
  • Document existing data structures and stakeholder needs, and propose an optimized, scalable data model.
  • Collaborate with internal data teams to define and develop Data Products that support analytics and reporting needs.
  • Document data requirements, map sources, and contribute to data model definitions for reporting and control.
  • Optimize and automate data pooling and sampling processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Contribute to the department’s overall data strategy, ensuring secure and efficient data availability for analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Translate business requirements into efficient data flows, data models, and access mechanisms.
  • Design and industrialize data pipelines, warehouses, and data marts.


Profile

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, engineering, or similar).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst in complex environments.
  • Proven experience with conceptual data modelling (e.g., MERISE or equivalent frameworks).
  • Skilled in data pooling, sampling, and automation using self-service tools.
  • Strong experience with data governance, data quality frameworks, and BI architectures.
  • Experience in the financial sector or within risk/control functions is a strong asset.
  • Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Autonomous, proactive, and able to collaborate across technical and business teams.
