🧩 About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Java Engineer with a strong background in Data Engineering, Kafka, and Oracle technologies to join a long-term project in Amsterdam. This is a hands-on engineering role focusing on building a modern data infrastructure, migrating legacy systems, and ensuring IT risk compliance.

🛠 Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate a modern data store for seamless data exchange
• Support and improve operations for existing data platforms
• Migrate legacy systems and data processes to the new infrastructure
• Maintain IT Risk controls and actively participate in audits
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production issues using modern tooling
• Automate test cases and deployment pipelines
• Collaborate closely in Agile/Scrum or Kanban settings

🔍 Ideal Profile

✅ 8+ years of backend development in Java

✅ Deep experience in data engineering, data integration, and data quality

✅ Proficient with:

• Java APIs
• Kafka (Streams API, Connect, Schema Registry)
• Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL
• Linux scripting
• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes (ICHP preferred)
• DevOps: Azure DevOps, Ansible

✅ Skilled in identifying risks, adhering to IT Security Standards, and managing incidents

✅ Excellent analytical mindset and strong communication skills in English
