Project Manager – Complex Technical Systems

We are looking for a dynamic Project Manager with a strong technical and engineering background to lead projects involving complex and safety-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects involving technically complex systems, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and time.
• Lead and coordinate public tendering processes, including preparation of tender documentation, evaluation, and definition of acceptance criteria.
• Handle vendor and supplier management, ensuring strong relationships while maintaining project authority and control.
• Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including technical teams, management, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and performance requirements throughout all project phases.

Profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent with strong technical insight, positioned as a Project Manager (not hands-on technical).
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in managing complex technical projects.
• Proven experience in public sector or public tender environments.
• Excellent vendor management and stakeholder management skills, with strong executive presence and the ability to manage upward.
• Experience in aviation systems or in complex system implementations within a safety-regulated environment (defence, aerospace, transport, etc.).
• Holds at least a basic PM certification (PRINCE2 Foundation, PMP, or equivalent).
• Fluent in Dutch or French, with a strong command of English.
