Integration .NET Developer

Industry: Insurance & Financial Services

Location: Brussels (Hybrid possible depending on team)

Duration: 12-month freelance mission (extension possible)

About the Role

A major organisation in the insurance and financial services industry is seeking an Integration .NET Developer to strengthen its central integration team. After onboarding and learning internal standards and best practices, you will integrate one of the business IT teams to support key projects and contribute to the development of .NET expertise.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and unit-test new developments and enhancements.
• Perform bug fixing and production updates.
• Document technical designs and development steps.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support deployments to test, staging, and production environments.
• Collaborate with integration teams and business IT teams on API, batch, and workflow projects.

Required Languages

• English: Good
• Dutch or French: Fluent in one, with at least basic knowledge of the other.

Business Experience

• Experience as a .NET application or software developer (APIs or batch systems).
• Experience with integration projects across different systems, packages, or technology platforms.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience (junior to mid-level).

Technical Skills

Mandatory

• Strong experience with .NET WCF web services.
• Strong experience with REST APIs (JSON, Swagger).
• Knowledge of XML technologies (XSD, XSLT, XPath).
• Solid experience in .NET C# and .NET Framework (4.0 and above).
• Very good knowledge of the Microsoft developer ecosystem (Visual Studio, TFS, VSTS).

Preferred

• Experience with batch schedulers (Control-M).
• Integration with Mainframe z/OS.
• Knowledge of SAML, OAuth, or other authentication/authorization standards.
• Experience with SQL Server SSIS.
• Experience with BizTalk.
• Knowledge of Dynamics CRM.
• Experience in automated performance and load testing.
• Experience in the insurance or financial industry.

Functional Skills

• Strong knowledge of common integration patterns.
• Experience in workflow design.
• 2–5 years in functional integration roles.
