Job Title: Senior System Design Engineer – Identity & Access Management (IAM)

Location: Belgium – Leuven or Mechelen (onsite)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior System Design Engineer with extensive experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and a strong technical background in IT infrastructure and system software. The successful candidate will contribute to designing and maintaining secure systems that support organisational needs, security protocols, and performance optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and translate business and technical requirements into system designs
• Assess design trade-offs and validate compliance with requirements
• Support the deployment of new systems and ensure they meet intended functionality
• Use engineering and development tools to solve technical or business challenges
• Drive innovation and improve existing systems and processes
• Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation
• Perform complex incident resolutions and root cause analysis
• Participate in on-call rotations for system support

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Proven experience in system design and IT infrastructure (5+ years)
• Expertise in IAM protocols such as OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML
• Experience managing digital certificates (issuance, renewal, revocation)
• Strong understanding of encryption, identity and access management, and information security
• Hands-on knowledge of tools like GitHub/Bitbucket, JSON
• Security-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with ICT systems and practices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience with web security
• Technical skills in JavaScript
• Knowledge of Azure AD, PING AM, PING DS
