Support Engineer – Git Expert (Aviation Industry)


📍 Location: Brussels (Hybrid)

🕒 Contract Type: Freelance or Permanent

🌍 Work Mode: 2 days onsite per week


Are you passionate about Git and solving complex software issues? A leading organization in the Aviation industry is looking for a Support Engineer with deep Git expertise to join its collaborative internal development support team.


🔧 What You'll Do

As a Support Engineer, you’ll be the go-to expert for all Git-related challenges within the organization. You’ll support development teams using in-house and open-source tools, resolve issues related to CI/CD, access control, and deployment, and work in a team dedicated to enabling smooth internal software development operations.

You’ll collaborate across departments, analyze complex issues, debug infrastructure problems, and contribute to automation efforts for greater efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level support for Git and GitLab in a Linux environment
  • Investigate and resolve issues impacting developers across various domains
  • Improve internal support tools and documentation
  • Participate in CI/CD pipeline improvement and internal training
  • Interface with various stakeholders, from developers to business teams


🧠 What You Bring

  • Strong command of Git (commands, internals, workflows) and GitLab
  • Solid knowledge of Linux and system administration
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)
  • Scripting and automation (Bash, Python, or similar)
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure concepts (networking, containers, DNS, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English (Dutch and French are assets)
