Job Description

As a Network Security Specialist, you will be part of the Network Infrastructure Team (NWI).

The company operates an extensive network with 2,500 Cisco switches and 35 production networks. Within the scope of Network Security, the goal is to further segment and secure these production networks. This requires strong knowledge of communication flows and protocols in an industrial environment with a high level of automation (+1,000 PLCs).

You will be responsible for implementing the security framework and managing numerous firewalls and other security products.

In the short term, you will independently plan and execute Network Security projects. Close communication and collaboration with colleagues from NWI, application owners, technicians, engineers, and production line managers is essential. Only through strong cooperation can production interruptions be kept as short as possible. The company operates continuously (24/7).


Technical Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent through experience
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the following areas:
  • Hardware: Switches, routers (Cisco)
  • Technologies/protocols: Subnetting, routing (BGP, OSPF), LAN/VLAN, TCP/IP (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, FTP), Industrial network protocols (e.g., PROFINET)
  • Network communication analysis (using e.g., Wireshark traces or firewall logs)
  • Network Management (e.g., PRTG)
  • Security: Network segmentation, firewalls, IPS, etc.


Assets

  • Experience with configuration and management of Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiAuthenticator…) is a strong plus.
  • Experience working in a 24/7 production environment (note: the candidate themselves will work regular day shifts).

Practical Information

  • Start date: As soon as possible (to be agreed)
