Solution Architect
Purpose of the Role
You are responsible for the complete design of applications according to business needs. You analyse complex information problems and translate them into clear, comprehensive models aligned with Business, Application, and Technical Architecture. Beyond modelling, you think at an overarching level, integrating multiple client requests into a coherent approach that considers data quality, migration, and master data management (MDM).
Key Responsibilities
Solution Integration
- Design and manage the integration and implementation architecture to ensure overall coherence with enterprise architecture.
- Define and document high-level structures for interactive and batch components.
- Align designs with project teams and business sponsors.
- Ensure all designs are validated by the architecture board before execution.
- Safeguard that solutions are built according to the described architecture.
Project Support
- Support project managers and teams throughout design and execution.
- Adjust designs during implementation when needed.
- Report deviations from the defined architecture to project leaders and operational managers.
Solution Definition
- Define solutions based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Ensure alignment with business and technical needs.
- Monitor compliance with security and performance requirements.
Solution Alternatives
- Develop and evaluate alternative approaches to achieve the desired information, application, and infrastructure goals.
- Create cost estimates, define risks, and provide substantiated recommendations.
Architecture Principles and Standards
- Conduct audits and quality assurance (e.g. code reviews, coverage checks).
- Report deviations and suggest improvements to the architecture board and project leads.
- Promote and enforce architectural principles and standards across teams.

Must-Haves
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years)
- Knowledge of at least two of the following disciplines:
- Business Architecture
- Application Architecture
- Technical Architecture
- Information Architecture
- Strong communication and coaching skills
- Experience with model-driven approaches (UML, data modelling, process modelling)
- Interest in Master Data Management and data quality
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with PRINCE2, SCRUM, Jira, Enterprise Architect
- Experience in the insurance sector
