Data Architect
Overview
The Data Architect contributes to the creation of the enterprise data architecture for the organization. They collaborate with internal data governance, analytics, and architecture teams to define principles, standards, and guidelines related to data flows, aggregation, consumption, and storage. The role includes providing guidance on data architecture in major programs and ensuring adherence to internal and regulatory policies.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the development of governance processes around technology and business aspects of enterprise data architecture.
- Advise project teams to align with target state architecture.
- Design optimal solution architectures supporting business and strategic goals.
- Contribute to independent validation frameworks ensuring compliance with data architecture principles.
- Document and maintain the organization’s data assets across BI, analytics, and master data systems.
- Stay informed on data science trends and engage with data communities.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in enterprise data architecture.
- Build strong working relationships across IT and business functions to ensure alignment with architecture standards.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong expertise in data architecture and BI/analytics landscapes in cloud environments (e.g., Azure).
- 10–15 years of experience in IT with a background in enterprise architecture.
- Familiarity with financial services data models and regulatory data frameworks.
- Knowledge of architecture frameworks and tools (e.g., TOGAF, DAMA DMBOK, Archimate).
- Strong communication and consulting skills, with fluency in English and knowledge of other European languages considered an asset.
- Demonstrates leadership, critical thinking, and outcome-oriented mindset.
