🧭 About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Functional Analyst to support the development of innovative IT solutions within the Operational Planning & Competency domain for a major railway client. You'll be working on a key digital transformation project aimed at optimizing qualification and certification management systems for operational staff, including train drivers, station personnel, and more.

In this role, you will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into actionable functional specifications and overseeing their implementation throughout the full software development lifecycle.


πŸ› οΈ Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze business requirements from multiple stakeholders.
  • Translate requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
  • Ensure functional coverage aligns with the agreed project scope.
  • Collaborate with development teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Break down deliverables into manageable tasks and estimate workload.
  • Maintain detailed documentation using tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Proactively support various phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in testing, validation, and change management activities.
  • Contribute positively to the team spirit and project success.


βœ… Your Profile

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Functional Analyst in software development projects.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, databases (SQL), data warehousing, and cloud technologies.
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Proven experience with Jira and Confluence for backlog management.
  • Knowledge of BPMN and UML modeling.
  • Experience as a Product Owner is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Able to work onsite in Brussels at least 2 times per week.
  • Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
