Career Staffing Talent (CST) is partnering with a luxury boutique hotel in Palm Beach to recruit a Director of Banquets. It's one of Palm Beach’s premier destinations for high-end events, weddings, galas, and celebrations. 


This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing all banquet operations, event execution, staff performance, and guest experience across the hotel’s elegant venues. The ideal candidate brings luxury hospitality experience, polished service standards, and the ability to develop and inspire a high-performing banquet team.

You will manage the entire banquet experience—from pre-event planning to flawless execution and post-event reporting—while working closely with culinary, catering, events, and hotel leadership.

Compensation

$110,000 base salary + commission structure

Commission opportunities are tied to banquet performance, giving the Director meaningful upside based on department success.

Key Responsibilities


Banquet Leadership & Event Execution


  • Supervise, train, and lead the banquet team to ensure maximum efficiency and outstanding guest satisfaction
  • Coordinate, organize, and execute all banquet and catering functions according to BEOs and hotel standards
  • Ensure all event details—menus, room setup, service flow, special requests, VIP needs—are executed flawlessly
  • Conduct pre-function meetings and oversee all setups, buffets, bars, and staff assignments
  • Monitor staff performance and service pacing throughout events


Guest Relations & Service Excellence


  • Greet hosts and guests; ensure a polished, luxury-level guest experience
  • Anticipate needs and respond promptly to guest requests or concerns
  • Resolve issues following hotel service standards and guest recovery procedures


Operational Oversight


  • Manage supplies, inventory, banquet equipment, linens, and storage
  • Process billing, finalize charges, and follow cashiering procedures
  • Complete function recaps, closing duties, and communication with all departments


Staff Management & Training


  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate banquet staff
  • Prepare weekly schedules, monitor labor costs, and oversee payroll and tip distribution
  • Uphold grooming standards and high-service expectations


Collaboration & Communication


  • Coordinate closely with culinary, stewarding, catering, engineering, and event teams
  • Review menus, equipment needs, service timing, and special arrangements with the Chef and Stewarding teams


Safety, Compliance & Standards


  • Maintain banquet service standards, emergency protocols, and safety procedures
  • Ensure confidentiality of guest and hotel information
  • Submit maintenance requests and ensure banquet spaces meet hotel standards


Qualifications


  • 5+ years of banquet service experience in a luxury venue
  • 2–3 years of banquet management experience in high-end hospitality
  • Expertise in reading and executing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and service recovery skills
  • Knowledge of food & beverage service styles, liquor laws, and banquet logistics
  • Proficiency with banquet systems and Microsoft Office
  • Food handling certificate & alcohol service certification
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift 30–50 lbs as required
