(Senior) Director of Product - Build the Tech Powering 130+ Veterinary Hospitals 🐾
Location: White Plains, NY, hybrid onsite 4x/week
Comp: $250-300K all in (base + bonus)
Visas: Sorry, no visa sponsorship or transfers available at this time
The client:
Our client is one of the fastest-growing, most beloved companies in veterinary healthcare, with emergency hospitals nationwide and a mission to help people and their pets when they need it most.
They are rethinking emergency care from every angle: how hospitals operate, how doctors and nurses deliver care, how pet parents stay informed, and how technology can make a high-stakes environment feel more efficient, transparent, and human.
Their model is highly differentiated: 24/7 emergency hospitals, open-floor care environments, a deeply customer-centric experience, and a culture built around finding solutions wherever possible.
The company has scaled to 130+ hospitals - adding about 30 new ones per year - roughly 8,000 employees (with 250 in their HQ), and more than 1M customer visits per year. This is a rare opportunity to lead Product at national scale while still operating in a somewhat startuppy / scrappy, high-ownership environment.
The role: (Senior) Director of Product
This is a rare opportunity for a true hands-on Product leader (player/coach vibes) to lead and scale the Product Management function for a company where technology is core to the business, the care model, and the daily experience of hospital teams.
You’ll turn the needs of hospitals, clinical teams, pet parents, referral partners, and the business into clear product strategy, focused roadmaps, and digital products that make a real difference in emergency veterinary medicine.
The work spans clinical applications, including the company’s proprietary practice management system / PIMS, customer-facing products, internal operational tools, and future platforms that support both pet parents and referring vets.
A note on altitude:
This is not a “big company, lots of layers” Product leadership role. They’re looking for someone who isn’t averse to getting in the weeds, as the rest of their senior leadership often does! You’re senior enough to lead the function, manage a small team (prior mentoring experience is OK), partner directly with executives, and shape Product maturity, but still hands-on enough to get into the nuts + bolts of PM work: discovery, roadmap tradeoffs, requirements, data, delivery, and iteration.
In other words: a true player-coach who can raise the bar for Product while still showing what great PM craft looks like.
Why this is exciting:
This is a chance to build Product Management at a company that is scaling quickly, but thoughtfully.
You’ll partner directly with senior leaders across Technology, Clinical, Operations, Customer Experience, Data, Design, and Field teams, and your work will have visible impact across hospitals, frontline teams, pet parents, and patient care.
The product problems are wonderfully complex. You’ll be working across clinical workflows, operational systems, customer communication, hospital efficiency, care quality, referral partner needs, and real-world change management.
A strong fit will have overseen the creation of products that don’t just live digitally, but also in the physical world. These tools need to work for doctors, nurses, hospital operators, pet parents, and partners in busy, emotional, high-pressure environments.
