Hybrid onsite 3 days/week onsite in NYC (FiDi)

Comp: $140-156K + equity


 

Chances are, if you've worked for a startup or other established SMB, you're probably already highly familiar with our client!


They're a late-stage startup well known in the Benefits + Payroll space that provides SMBs — including many in the tech industry — with high-quality, enterprise-level health insurance and payroll tools that smaller businesses and their employees wouldn’t otherwise have access to.


They’ve been an important player in the $40B HR Tech industry for over 10 years, and have nearly $160M in funding from top VCs including Bain, Thrive, Union Square Ventures.


They’ve expanded into global markets and have grown consistently and smartly year over year - they’re currently at 1300 total employees, with 30+ Designers - doubling their Product org in the last 2 years. They’re now adding a full suite of products to their already well-known core product, so they’re in a great place for continued success!

They’re seeking a fulltime Product Designer for their Benefits team.


It’s a full-stack design role where you’ll be a key member of one of the highest-profile initiatives in the company: merging 2 major products (Benefits and Payroll) into a single, streamlined product, which in turn will provide a world-class experience to both HR admins and employees. This is a mid-level role, where you’ll be able to receive mentorship and guidance from team leaders, while working quickly and autonomously to see your products through to launch.



What you’ll get to do in this role:


· Design across the entire product development lifecycle, from discovery to launch (and post-launch iteration!)

· Collaborate closely with your trusted team of other designers, product managers, researchers, marketers, data scientists, and engineers, to identify and define design problems

· Collaborate on user research, testing, and data analysis to understand user behavior and inform design decisions

· Validate design decisions through rapid prototyping and experimentation

· Collaborate closely with engineers to deliver high-quality experiences

· Help shape the internal design system with consistency and efficiency in mind

· And more exciting work as it crops up!


The ideal candidate has:


· 3-5+ years of relevant Product Design experience

· B2B experience with complex, content-rich interfaces preferably within HR Tech / benefits / payroll, EdTech, or FinTech – but flexible!

· Equal comfort with UX + UI Design, as well as the ability to conduct UX Research and talk to users directly

· A portfolio of multiple, relevant projects that have launched – with success metrics to show the results 

· Experience working with a very high volume of content

· Experience creating consistency across multiple disparate products

-> Bonus points for if you’ve previously merged multiple, disparate systems into a single standalone product

· The ability to think in large systems and analyze complex workflows; information architecture skills

· Obsession with design craft and a meticulous eye for detail

· The instinct to share “early and often”, holding nothing too precious


Like to haves:


  • Native mobile app experience (iOS and Android)
  • Service Design and journey map creation experience
