A moment of panic:
Many pet parents know that moment of panic! For Sarah, it was watching her beloved corgi Willow crunch through a mouthful of lava rocks from the neighbor's yard, creating a life or death situation. Panicked, she raced to one of our client’s emergency vet hospitals.
There, she found skilled, compassionate doctors and nurses, seamless internal systems, and an open floor plan that kept her at Willow's side with full transparency into his care.
YOU can be a part of this amazing care by building the mission-critical systems behind that experience, and help the M’s of Sarahs and other pet owners across the USA.
The client:
One of the fastest-growing, most beloved companies in veterinary healthcare, our client is a nationwide network of 130+ veterinary hospitals, and over 1M visitors a year, with a mission to transform the emergency care experience for pets, pet parents, doctors, nurses, and hospital teams.
They are rethinking emergency veterinary care from every angle: how hospitals operate, how clinical teams collaborate, how pet parents stay informed, and how technology can make an intense, high-stakes environment feel more efficient, transparent, and human.
Their model is highly differentiated: 24/7 emergency hospitals, open floor plan care environments, a deeply customer-centric experience, and a culture built around saying “let’s find out!” wherever possible.
They are growing quickly, consistently adding dozens of new hospitals each year, while staying focused on delivering an exceptional experience for both customers and employees.
The company has roughly 8,000 employees including their care providers, with ~350 employees working out of their HQ. Their HQ team is still comparatively lean, collaborative, and builder-oriented, so this is a rare opportunity to work on products with national impact while still operating in a scrappy, high-ownership environment.
AI is a part of all that they do in the Product org, and they use it intelligently and where it’s actually needed. So someone conversant utilizing AI on the job is a major plus.
And, it’s all for the good of animals - how cool is that?
The role:
As Senior Product Manager, you’ll be focused on the company’s proprietary in-house clinical operations platform: a practice management system that functions like an EMR / EHR with significant operational, financial, workflow, and customer communication capabilities built in.
This platform is the crucial backbone of how the hospitals run. Doctors, nurses, and hospital staff use it to manage clinical notes, treatment plans, medication directions, dosage warnings, patient status, estimates, billing, invoicing, payments, customer emails / texts, and the movement of furry patients through the hospital.
The system was built from scratch and has been rolled out across all hospitals. The next phase is much more ambitious: making the product dramatically better, more intuitive, more trusted, and ultimately something doctors and nurses genuinely love using.
This role will sit on the product team that bridges corporate initiatives with frontline hospital realities. The work often touches estimates, billing, invoicing, medical quality initiatives, customer experience, and the complicated handoff between what the business needs and what hospital teams can realistically adopt in a fast-moving emergency environment.
You’ll operate at the intersection of clinical workflows, physical-world operations, financial systems, customer communication, and frontline user adoption.
