We are seeking a hands-on Head of Information Technology to manage, maintain, and continuously improve the systems that power this experience. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves role where you’ll own the full spectrum of IT needs—from facility and headquarters support to system administration, vendor management, and project execution.
Position Overview
The Head of Information Technology will be the sole IT owner. You will serve as the go-to technical resource for all employees, ensuring our systems are secure, efficient, and scalable as we grow.
This role is best suited for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, is comfortable troubleshooting across multiple systems, and can independently manage everything from networking and cloud services to credit card processing, employee onboarding, and cybersecurity concepts.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On IT Operations
- Provide direct, day-to-day IT support for all employees, including hardware, software, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Administer and maintain cloud services, network infrastructure, endpoints, and business applications.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and secure access across systems.
- Onboard and offboard employees, ensuring proper setup and data security.
- Create detailed systems and process documentation.
Systems & Security
- Administer and maintain core platforms, we use Office 365 (Exchange, Defender, Azure/SSO), cloud infrastructure (AWS EC2, RDS, Lambda, Connect, VPC, CloudWatch), and distributed PBX systems.
- Support business-critical applications such as kiosks, website, APIs, storage management software, and payment processing.
- Manage security and monitoring tools (Cloudflare, Defender, Atera, Hexnode, Backblaze) to ensure reliability and data protection.
- Oversee integrations with third-party services (Google Cloud APIs, GitHub, OpenEdge/Global Payments, Storage Management System, Yardi) and maintain documentation.
Project & Vendor Management
- Coordinate technology projects such as system upgrades, integrations, and migrations.
- Serve as primary contact for IT vendors, consultants, and managed service providers.
- Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and IT policies.
Collaboration & Training
- Partner with leadership to understand business needs and provide practical technology solutions.
- Train employees on IT best practices, tools, and security awareness.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 2+ years in a lead or sole contributor IT role.
- Proven ability to independently manage IT operations in a small to mid-size company environment.
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (Microsoft 365, AWS), networking, and cybersecurity.
- Comfortable supporting distributed teams and multi-location operations.
- Self-starter with strong intellectual curiosity.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience in real estate, property management, or related industries is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
- Target base salary $140-$150K plus 10% bonus plan.
