We are seeking an Azure Infrastructure Engineer for our client based in the Maryland suburbs. Please note this is an onsite role and will require being in the office.


This role will be responsible for managing the server environment including server deployment, migrations, upgrades, patch management application support, virus remediation, business continuity, operational and disaster recovery. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to :Design, implement Azure foundational elements including VNETs, Blob storage, instances, functions, networking, etc.. Understand and work with Azure Disk, Azure Resource Monitoring, Azure Automation, Runbook and Azure Backup and Restoration. Builds methods for cost management and billing, resource utilization and calculation.


The candidate shall be well versed in managing Active Directory Management, Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), and Group Policy administration. Prior experience in either leading or supporting Active Directory Services, ADFS and Azure Infrastructure resources is essential.


Essential Job Functions:

• Administration and optimization of Active Directory accounts, groups, and computers

• Monitoring of system performance

• Create and maintain system configuration documentation

• Daily monitoring of log files for potential system or security issues

• Actively participate in knowledge transfer - serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and be willing to provide strong, consistent technical advisement and mentorship; drive documentation efforts and the adoption of enterprise standards

• Be an escalation point for internal and external teams around Active Directory and Exchange

• Drives positive co-collaboration across enterprise teams; establish a rapport with Business Leaders and become a trusted partner

• Perform other tasks as assigned

• Continually monitor environment to ensure best practices and Federal guidelines are being followed.

• Create advanced monitoring strategies for monitoring and reporting health of Active Directory components.

• Record problem symptoms and status information in a timely fashion and communicate internally within IT and externally with the customer through problem resolution.

• Responsible for day-to-day administration duties including Windows Active Directory object maintenance. Conducts complex troubleshooting and repair tasks on Active Directory, Windows Server 2008-2019, Domain Controllers, user authentication and other operational systems as needed.

• Monitoring, backup, and restoration procedures for Active Directory.

• Document new system components, or modifications to existing components

• Ensure the security and integrity of system and product solutions.

• Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) infrastructure management


Skills and Qualifications:

• 4-7 years of Active Directory experience to include managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs), Active Directory Federation Services(ADFS), Azure Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory Domain Services (AADS).

• 4-7 years of experience operating and maintaining Windows servers – group policy and permissions; vulnerability scans, audits, and mitigations; patch management

• 3-5 years of experience with Exchange/Office 365

• Experience with DNS and certificate management

• Extensive scripting experience; preferably with PowerShell. Performs task automation through the creation of scripts, Azure automation and orchestration

• Configuring and operating Proxy servers

• Azure cloud experience

• Providing user support and guidance

• Provision and maintain secure Linux and Microsoft Windows Servers

• Firewall Load balancers, F5, WAF

• Developing, Implementing, and maintain backups/disaster recovery solutions, and supporting enterprise system monitoring tools.

• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and complex problem resolution

• Performing system hardening through STIG review, GPO, and scripts.
