We are seeking a Human Resources Manager for an industry leading employer based out of Guelph, Ontario. This role involves managing all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and training, within the fast-paced and dynamic truck repair industry. The HR Manager will play a pivotal role in aligning human capital strategies with operational goals across various locations. This is an in-person job.

Talent Acquisition and Retention

  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract skilled technicians, drivers, sales professionals, and administrative staff.
  • Manage the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires into the company culture.
  • Implement retention strategies to reduce turnover in a competitive industry.

Employee Relations

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
  • Facilitate communication between management and employees to align expectations and performance.


HR Compliance and Administration

  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international labor laws and trucking industry regulations.
  • Manage employee records, benefits administration, and payroll coordination.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) rules and other trucking-specific policies.


Compensation and Benefits

  • Manage payroll processes in collaboration with finance teams.
  • Evaluate and administer employee benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness within the industry.
  • Conduct salary benchmarking and performance reviews to ensure equity and fairness.


Training and Development

  • Design and implement training programs to enhance technical skills, safety compliance, and leadership capabilities.
  • Oversee certification and licensing processes for employees as required by industry standards.
  • Support career development initiatives to prepare employees for internal promotions.


Performance Management

  • Develop and oversee performance evaluation systems, setting clear goals and expectations for all roles.
  • Work with department heads to address performance issues and implement improvement plans.


Strategic HR Planning

  • Collaborate with senior management to align HR strategies with business objectives, including expansion plans and fleet growth.
  • Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements in workforce planning.


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CHRL/CHRP is a must have.
  • Payroll ADP experience is a must have.
  • Health and Safety experience.
  • 10+ years of HR management experience, preferably in the trucking, automotive, or heavy equipment industries.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software (e.g., HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
