Branch Manager — Heavy Equipment

Chesterfield, MI | $80K Base + Bonus | $120K Total Comp Potential

This isn’t a sit-behind-the-desk branch manager job.

We’re looking for a Branch Manager who knows the equipment business, can talk shop with technicians, understands parts and service, and knows how to keep a branch moving when things get busy.

You don’t need to turn every wrenches yourself, but you better know what it means when a tech tells you a machine has a hydraulic issue, a parts order is holding up a repair, or a customer’s equipment is down and needs to get back to work.

You’ll be running the day-to-day operation of a busy heavy equipment branch, working with sales, service, parts, rental, customers and the technicians to keep things moving and the numbers where they need to be.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the branch and keep the day-to-day operation running smoothly
  • Work directly with service, parts, sales and rental teams
  • Stay involved with what’s happening in the shop — not just what’s on the reports
  • Support and manage technicians, parts people and other branch employees
  • Talk with customers, understand their equipment needs and help resolve problems
  • Keep an eye on service workflow, equipment downtime, parts needs and customer commitments
  • Help make sure jobs are moving through the shop and getting out the door
  • Work with the team to hit branch sales, service and profitability goals
  • Monitor branch performance, expenses, inventory and overall productivity
  • Build strong customer relationships and help grow the business

What We’re Looking For

The background matters here.

You should have real experience around heavy equipment, construction equipment, diesel, service, parts or a similar equipment environment and be comfortable dealing with the people who actually keep machines working.

You’re probably a good fit if you’ve been a:

  • Service Manager
  • Shop Manager
  • Branch Manager
  • Heavy Equipment Service Manager
  • Lead Technician who moved into management
  • Foreman or working supervisor
  • Equipment dealership or rental manager

Most importantly, you need to be able to talk shop.

Compensation

  • $80,000 base salary + performance-based bonus/commission
  • The bonus is tied to branch performance, with total compensation targeted up to approximately $120,000.
  • Benefit package plus 401K match

The Bottom Line

We need someone who can walk into the shop, talk to a mechanic about a machine, walk over to parts and figure out what's holding up the repair, talk to a customer about what they need, and then get back to the business side and make sure the branch is performing.

If you know heavy equipment, understand service, know how to lead people and want to run your own branch, let’s talk.
