Parts Counterperson — Keep the Shop Moving
Exeter, New Hampshire
$18–$28/hour (based on experience)
Mon–Fri, 7:30AM–3:30PM
Every shop has a heartbeat. In this one, it’s the parts counter.
When a truck’s down and a tech is halfway through a job, everything pauses until the right part shows up. That’s where you come in — tracking it down, pulling it fast, and getting it to the bay so the work doesn’t stall.
This is a role for someone who likes being in the middle of it all — not on the sidelines. You’re organized, quick on the keyboard, and you don’t lose track of details when things get busy.
You’ll be working with a tight-knit commercial truck service team handling towing, recovery, and heavy-duty repair work. It’s steady, fast-moving, and no two days are exactly the same.
What you’ll actually be doing:
- Running the parts catalog and keeping inventory tight and accurate
- Pulling and dispensing parts to techs so jobs keep moving
- Sourcing parts quickly when stock runs short or something unusual rolls in
- Receiving shipments, checking them in, and making sure nothing’s missing or wrong
- Processing invoices and keeping records clean and up to date
- Pricing out larger orders and coordinating approvals when needed
- Staying in sync with the shop so everyone knows what’s coming, what’s delayed, and what’s needed next
What you bring to the counter:
- Comfortable around heavy truck and diesel parts
- Solid communicator — you can talk to techs, vendors, and the shop without friction
- Computer comfortable (inventory systems, basic Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Basic math doesn’t slow you down
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Parts department experience in heavy truck/diesel
- Warehouse or high-volume inventory experience also helps
What you get:
- $18–$28/hour depending on experience
- Health, dental, and vision coverage
- Life + disability insurance options
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off + holidays
- A consistent weekday schedule — no nights, no weekends
- A growing operation where reliable people actually move up
If you’re the kind of person who can keep a counter clean, a shop supplied, and techs from standing around waiting on parts — you’ll fit right in here.
Step into the middle of the action and be the reason the whole shop runs smoother.
