Lead Hand - Red Seal Truck and Transport Mechanic – Halifax, NS

Salary: $45/ hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Rockstar Recruiting is hiring an experienced Red Seal Truck and Transportation Mechanic – Lead Hand to join the Maintenance Department in Halifax, NS.

The Lead Hand will provide day-to-day leadership, technical guidance, and work coordination while performing the full range of mechanical duties. You will play an important role in supporting technicians and apprentices, maintaining a modern motorcoach fleet, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

·        Perform the full scope of Red Seal Truck & Transport Mechanic duties.

·        Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain motorcoaches, buses, support vehicles, and related equipment.

·        Perform complex mechanical and electrical diagnostics.

·        Mentor and assist technicians with difficult repairs and troubleshooting, and provide day-to-day directions

·        Complete preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

·        Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide after-hours support when required.

·        Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

What We're Looking For

·        Red Seal Truck & Transport Mechanic Certification required.

·        5 years of progressive Truck & Transport, heavy-duty, or bus/motorcoach mechanical experience.

·        Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.

·        Solid electrical and electronic diagnostic knowledge.

·        Previous experience mentoring apprentices or leading technicians

·        Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple jobs.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·        A safety-first mindset and commitment to quality workmanship.

·        Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced maintenance environment.

·        Valid Class 2 or Class 3 driver's licence with air brake endorsement is an asset.
