Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Shop or Field
Saginaw, MI | $30–$42+/hr DOE | Full-Time
If you know your way around a diesel, can chase an electrical problem without throwing parts at it, or just have a solid mechanical foundation and want to learn heavy equipment — we want to talk to you.
We’re looking for Shop or Field Heavy Equipment Technicians in Saginaw. All experience levels are welcome. Maybe you’re coming from automotive, diesel, agriculture or industrial equipment. Maybe you’ve already spent years diagnosing hydraulics, electrical issues, engines and powertrain problems. Either way, there’s room here to put your skills to work and keep building them.
What You’ll Work On
This is hands-on equipment work — PMs, repairs, troubleshooting and keeping machines out of the breakdown pile.
- Preventive maintenance, inspections and service
- Diesel engine, drivetrain and powertrain repairs
- Hydraulic diagnostics and repairs
- Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Mechanical troubleshooting and component replacement
- Install attachments, accessories and aftermarket kits
- Welding and fabrication as needed
- Diagnose problems instead of just swapping parts
- Test machines after repairs and make sure they’re ready to work
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to know everything on day one. We’re open to different levels of experience.
- Heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, ag, industrial or related mechanical experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Hydraulic and electrical diagnostic experience is a plus
- Willingness to learn and take on more advanced repairs
- Comfortable with hand and power tools
- Own professional tools
- Valid driver’s license
- CDL is a plus, not a requirement
- Dependable and able to work safely around heavy equipment
If you’re an experienced tech, there’s plenty of diagnostic and repair work to sink your teeth into. If you’re a good mechanic looking to make the jump into heavy equipment, paid training is available.
Shop or Field
- We’re hiring for both shop or field technicians.
- Field techs work out of service trucks and handle repairs at customer jobsites. You do not need a CDL to drive the service truck. CDL trucks are available for techs who already have one.
- When field work slows down, field techs can come back into the shop and stay busy.
Schedule & Pay
- Monday–Friday

- Average 45–50 hours/week
- Occasional Saturdays, but they’re rare and generally avoided

If you like working on equipment, solving problems and seeing a machine leave the shop running right, let’s talk.
