New position available for a jack of all trades master mechanic in Des Moines, Iowa. This role will be primarily responsible for maintaining heavy equipment (yellow iron). You will also get the opportunity to work on a variety of trucks, trailers, support equipment and even boats & motor sport vehicles! A mix of shop and field service duties will be involved. This is a lucrative paying position with an outfit that has expanded to multiple branches over the past 15 years.

The Gig:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment, compact dirt equipment, aerial &l lift equipment, forklifts, farm equipment, forestry equipment, class 8 trucks, trailers, pick up trucks, boats, and motor sport vehicles
• Conduct maintenance and repair at various customer sites or at Des Moines shop
• Complete work orders
• Utilization of computer diagnostic software
• Work with team members to ensure high quality work
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Your background:

• Three years minimum of prior heavy equipment/diesel diagnostics and repair
• Must be flexible and highly organized with the ability to work independently
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, preferred CDL and forklift certification
• Must pass background check at time of hire
• Expertise with hydraulics, hydrostat, engines, electrical, fuel systems, and/or charging systems

Compensation

• $100,000/year to start
