Diesel Technician/Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Conduct test-drives and use diagnostic tools to assess vehicle systems and components.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
• Communicate effectively with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed about any additional repairs needed and provide accurate time estimates for completion.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience required
• In-depth knowledge of Class 8 trucks
• Must provide your own tools
• Willing to undergo a drug screening and background check
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required

Key Skills:

• Attention to Detail: A diesel mechanic must be thorough—small issues can lead to bigger problems. Your sharp eye for detail will ensure all parts and systems are thoroughly inspected and repaired.
• Customer Service: Strong communication skills are essential. You’ll need to interact with customers, explaining vehicle issues and offering repair solutions. Building rapport with repeat customers is key!
• Dexterity: You’ll be working with your hands, using both simple and complex tools to repair and maintain truck components, so manual dexterity is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

License/Certification: Driver's License (Required)
