We have a shop position for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Bowling Green, Virginia. This role is with a well established company with several locations throughout the Unites States and is responsible for maintaining Military heavy equipment. Excellent opportunity for mechanics/technicians seeking a long term career within a stable sector.

Duties:

• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and rebuild a variety of off-highway heavy equipment
• Operate/inspect equipment to diagnose issues
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hosts and hand tools
• Use of micrometers and gauges
• Replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmission
• Welds broken parts and structural members

Qualifications:

• Two years of hands-on experience working on a variety of large Heavy Equipment or heavy duty military vehicles
• Ability to read and understand schematics
• Mechanics with the ability to rebuild components or a strong background with electrical and hydraulic systems will be given preference
• Mechanics with strong capabilities in diesel engines and diagnostics will be preferred
• Welding is an asset

Compensation:

• $26.83/hour to start
• H&W Cash in Lieu benefit of $4.41 per hour
• $1000 signing bonus
• 11 paid holidays

Shift:

• Days, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
