Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Bowling Green, VA
Pay: $35.15/hour ($30.22 base + $4.93/hour H&W Cash in Lieu, increases yearly)

We’ve got a shop position for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic maintaining military-grade equipment in Bowling Green, VA. What You’ll Be Doing
- Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and rebuild military heavy equipment and vehicles
- Inspect and operate equipment to pinpoint issues
- Take apart and put back together machines using hoists, hand tools, and gauges
- Replace engines, transmissions, and other subassemblies
- Weld broken parts and structural components
- Test overhauled equipment to make sure it runs efficiently
- Occasionally repair or maintain mining machines, shovels, drills, and other large machinery
Who We’re Looking For
- Graduate of a Vehicle/Equipment/Power Generation Mechanic Advanced Individual Training (AIT) like a 91 Series MOS or equivalent, OR vocational/technical school certificate for vehicle/equipment mechanics

At least 2 years of hands-on experience with heavy-duty military vehicles or heavy equipment
- Ability to obtain a CDL
- Comfortable reading instructions, doing basic math, and using Microsoft Office
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electronic systems
