About the Opportunity

A growing commercial truck repair and fleet maintenance organization is seeking an accomplished National Sales Director to lead national business development and support the expansion of its mobile fleet maintenance and repair services across the United States.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who has successfully held a comparable role within a fleet service organization or major commercial truck dealership group. The ideal candidate brings established relationships with national fleet decision-makers, a record of securing major service contracts, and the ability to build and lead a high-performing sales organization.

You will personally lead major account pursuits while developing the team, sales strategy, and processes needed to support growth across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities

National Sales Strategy and Business Development

  • Develop and execute a national sales strategy that supports revenue growth, market expansion, and long-term profitability.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure business with large commercial fleets operating across multiple states.
  • Build relationships with senior fleet, maintenance, procurement, and operations leaders.
  • Lead the full sales cycle, from prospecting and needs assessment through proposals, negotiations, and contract execution.
  • Secure multiyear agreements for mobile maintenance, on-site technician support, and shop repair services.
  • Identify new markets and strategic partnerships that support national expansion.

Sales Leadership and Team Development

  • Recruit, develop, and lead an outside sales organization designed to grow to dozens of professionals across multiple markets.
  • Establish territory plans, sales targets, pipeline expectations, and clear performance standards.
  • Coach sales professionals on account development, service presentations, negotiation, and closing.
  • Create consistent processes for tracking opportunities, forecasting revenue, and measuring results.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer service.

National Account Growth and Retention

  • Serve as a senior relationship leader for major fleet customers.
  • Expand existing accounts into additional locations, regions, and service offerings.
  • Develop account plans that strengthen customer relationships and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Work with operations to address customer needs, resolve service concerns, and support contract renewals.

Operational and Financial Alignment

  • Partner with executive and operations leadership to ensure sales commitments align with staffing, service coverage, and operating capacity.
  • Develop proposals and pricing that balance customer value with sustainable profitability.
  • Coordinate the transition of new accounts from contract signing to service delivery.
  • Incorporate customer feedback and market insight into service development and expansion planning.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in commercial truck repair, fleet maintenance, or a closely related service industry.
  • Previous success in a comparable national sales or executive business development leadership role.
  • Established relationships with national fleet customers and direct access to key decision-makers.
  • Proven ability to sell repair and maintenance services to large fleets operating across multiple states.
  • A record of negotiating and securing large, multiyear national service agreements.
  • Experience recruiting, coaching, and managing an outside sales team across multiple markets.
  • Strong understanding of service pricing, operating capacity, profitability, and fleet customer expectations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.

Preferred Background

  • National sales leadership within a large fleet maintenance or mobile service organization.
  • Leadership of national service sales for a major commercial truck dealership group.
  • Managing partner or executive leadership experience with direct responsibility for sales growth at a large fleet service company.
  • Experience scaling a sales organization during significant geographic expansion.

What the Role Offers

  • Anticipated annual compensation of $180,000–$300,000, based on qualifications and demonstrated business development success.
  • Company vehicle.
  • Company credit card for business expenses.
  • The opportunity to shape national sales strategy and build a growing sales organization.
  • Direct collaboration with executive leadership on major accounts, market expansion, and strategic growth.

We are looking for a leader who brings credibility with major fleets, delivers measurable results, and can turn national growth opportunities into lasting customer partnerships.
