Maintenance Manager
Location: Cascade Locks, OR
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 per year
Schedule: Flexible availability required, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance operations at a manufacturing facility in Cascade Locks, OR. This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing maintenance strategies that maximize equipment reliability, improve plant performance, and ensure a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance, preventative and predictive maintenance programs, and leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all plant maintenance activities while promoting a strong safety culture.
- Develop and execute preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Manage and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Supervise, mentor, and develop maintenance technicians and planners.
- Coordinate maintenance scheduling to minimize equipment downtime and maximize production.
- Oversee inventory of maintenance parts and ensure critical spare parts are available.
- Troubleshoot and oversee repairs of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Support the maintenance team with repairs involving conveyors, gearboxes, chains, pellet mills, motors, screws, and related industrial equipment.
- Assist with capital improvement projects, including budgeting, vendor selection, and contractor management.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Maintenance Excellence programs.
- Prepare maintenance reports, budgets, and project updates for plant leadership.
- Participate in hiring, performance management, coaching, and employee development.
- Serve as backup for plant leadership when required.
Qualifications
- Technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Previous experience managing maintenance operations in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Strong knowledge of preventative, predictive, and condition-based maintenance practices.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
- PLC troubleshooting experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, or other predictive maintenance tools is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent analytical and root cause analysis abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Walk, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and inspect equipment throughout the facility.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
- Safely navigate manufacturing environments with moving equipment and industrial hazards.
