About the client:
Our client is a well-established wholesaler and manufacturer of high-quality food products boasting a stable, vertically integrated supply chain developed alongside their subsidiaries in Asia. Their main office and facility are in Richmond, BC. They have been working on differentiating their products to be considered the most valuable brand among competitors in terms of growth potential and profitability.
To support the growth of their Richmond facility, our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee and uphold all aspects of food safety and quality compliance within the plant. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a strong food safety culture, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and mitigating potential risks across production processes. This role will also be responsible for reviewing and updating quality procedures to ensure ongoing alignment with regulatory standards and company policies.
The position will report directly to the Plant Manager. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the company’s Food Safety Plan, identifying areas for continuous improvement and addressing potential hazards.
- Foster and promote a strong food safety culture throughout the facility.
- Supervise the Quality Control (QC) team, ensuring that inspections, regulatory standards, and SOPs are consistently followed.
- Identify and document non-conformances, implementing appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure all monitoring records are completed accurately and in a timely manner; maintain organized filing systems in accordance with company standards.
- Liaise regularly with CFIA on-site inspectors regarding export certification and processing activities.
- Oversee incoming product and material inspections, including sampling and testing procedures.
- Investigate and respond to customer health, safety, and quality concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Manage inventory rotation to ensure FIFO compliance and monitor product quality and shelf life during storage.
- Coordinate and lead internal audits, regulatory inspections, and third-party audits, including validation and verification activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across processes, documentation, and facility operations.
- Participate in new product development and recipe design, ensuring food safety and quality standards are maintained.
- Conduct training sessions for production staff on company policies, food safety, and quality procedures.
- Oversee the preparation of commercial samples, mock-ups, and other assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work occasionally in a cold environment with appropriate PPE.

Compensation:
- $80,000-110,000 annual base salary
