Position Summary
Oversees all maintenance operations of our clients engineered wood product manufacturing facility, ensuring optimal equipment performance, minimal downtime, and safe working conditions. Responsible for developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs and managing maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate maintenance activities for all production equipment, facilities, and utilities.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Manage maintenance budget, including parts inventory and capital equipment purchases.
- Lead and supervise maintenance team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and internal safety standards.
- Coordinate with production management to schedule maintenance with minimal production impact.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment documentation.
- Recommend and implement equipment upgrades and process improvements.
- Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, with 2+ years in supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of wood processing equipment (saws, moulders, jointers, dryers, conveyors).
- Understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
