Our client is a well-established North American manufacturer and solutions provider specializing in retail merchandising, store display systems, and in-store communication products.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the end-to-end production plan, ensuring alignment between raw material availability, production schedules, and outbound shipping requirements.
- Partner with the Plant Manager and Production Scheduler to optimize production flow, efficiency, and on-time order fulfillment.
- Serve as the key liaison between Production, Inventory, Procurement, Shipping, Sales, Toolshop, Engineering, and other internal departments.
- Maintain proactive communication across departments to identify risks, prevent delays, and resolve scheduling constraints quickly.
- Act as the primary contact for the Sales team regarding production timelines, order updates, and delivery commitments.
- Support and provide backup coverage for the Production Scheduler as required.
- Review daily and next-day production plans to ensure materials are issued efficiently and production priorities are clearly defined.
- Coordinate inbound deliveries of raw materials and components to align with production schedules and minimize downtime.
- Identify shortages of critical materials, project-specific items, or non-inventory supplies, and escalate issues promptly to stakeholders.
- Manage expedited orders, priority requests, and schedule changes while minimizing disruption to core operations.
- Work closely with Shipping to ensure orders are shipped accurately, on time, and with updated shipment status records.
- Forecast production capacity based on sales forecasts and S&OP planning inputs, identifying under-capacity or over-capacity risks in advance.
- Plan labor, materials, and shipping capacity requirements to support forecasted customer demand.
- Coordinate product testing schedules with Production, Toolshop, and Engineering teams, ensuring all requirements are in place for successful trials.
- Lead pre-test and post-test coordination meetings to review results, action items, and next steps.
- Monitor production plan adherence, shipping performance, and operational KPIs, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Partner with supervisors and operations teams to refine production standards, improve pack sizes, and enhance workflow efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across scheduling, production flow, and cross-functional coordination processes.
Qualifications
- Diploma or post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production scheduling, production coordination, manufacturing planning, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production flow, inventory control, and shipping coordination.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and changing demands in a fast-paced production environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to align multiple departments toward common goals.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and proactive with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business systems.
- Experience working with ERP systems required; familiarity with Infor Visual is considered a strong asset.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in forecasting, capacity planning, and process improvement.
- Ability to build relationships across departments and thrive in a highly collaborative environment.
