Our client is a rapidly growing digital health company focused on providing accessible healthcare solutions to people across Canada. Through a combination of telemedicine, pharmacy services, and technology-driven care, they are building a modern platform for health. The company has experienced significant growth over the past year and is now expanding its finance team to support the next phase of scale.


Role Overview


They are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead and strengthen the company’s accounting and financial operations. This role will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, maintaining strong accounting controls, and ensuring the integrity and scalability of the company’s financial systems as the business continues to grow.


The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a practical, hands-on approach, and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. They are looking for someone who is tech savvy, open to working with new systems, and AI.


This position is located on site in Burnaby.


Key Responsibilities


• Oversee all core accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reporting

• Maintain and improve internal financial controls and accounting processes

• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors for year-end financial statements

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes

• Manage cash flow tracking and working capital management

• Implement and optimize financial systems and reporting tools as the company scales

• Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations

• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic decisions


Qualifications


• CPA designation (or near completion)

• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience

• Experience in high-growth companies, healthcare, technology, or e-commerce environments is an asset

• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and financial reporting practices

• Experience managing month-end close and financial reporting cycles

• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-growing company environment
