They are looking to add an AIBC Registered Senior Architect to their team.
Position Overview:
This Position is suitable for a registered Architect or Senior Technologist who is interested in leading teams and collaboration with clients and consultants to deliver important community buildings. This position offers an opportunity for the right individual for growth in an established, evolving firm. They support and encourage each individual’s professional development goals and long term growth at the firm.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leader on interdisciplinary design/build teams, overseeing quality of work, fee compliance, schedule and coordination with design consultants.
- Under the direction of the Principals, preparation of feasibility study reports and design / construction documents, including specifications.
- Prepare or direct the preparation of presentation materials using 3D software.
- Managing client relationships and communicating directly with project stakeholders.
Requirements:
- A combination of talent and technical skills in design projects and feasibility studies
- Coordinate workload of team members through multiple phases to complete documents on schedule
- At least 10 years of experience within an architectural firm
- Experience in designing Institutional building (K-12 schools, Post Secondary, Long-term care homes, Police, fire, ambulance, Civic buildings, Justice etc)
- A university degree in Architecture
- Registration with the AIBC or eligibility to register
- Construction documentation experience, including coordination BP and working drawings
- Demonstrated competence in a leadership role
- The ability to coordinate documents with consultants
- The ability to work with ease in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
- The ability to work well as a team leader, team member and independently
- The ability to lead a project from design through construction administration to completion
- The ability to manage a variety of complex projects simultaneously
- A high level of proficiency with REVIT and AutoCAD
- Knowledgeable of the BC Building Code
- Working knowledge of specifications
- A high degree of attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience with LEED accreditation, net zero, accessibility accreditation, an indigenous engagement will be highly considered.
Base salary: $90K - $140K
