About Our Client:
Exciting opportunity to join a growing company as it is expanding services across Canada. You will be working with the GM and overseeing the company's Controller. The company currently has operations across Western Canada. 
 
As the Director of Finance and Accounting, you are a strategic leader responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with Canadian accounting standards and driving business growth through financial and performance analysis. You will prepare financial and performance reports and communicate key insights to managers, the board, external accountants and other stakeholders. 
 
Continued potential for growth to the CFO level. 
- Work closely with the General Manager to support business strategy and operational efficiency.
- Valuation and Due Diligence for future M&A
- FP&A
- Pricing for large bids, proposals and contracts
- Prepare year-end accounts for external tax preparation
- Analyze financial performance, track progress, and recommend improvements.
- Communicate key financial insights to managers, the board of directors, banks, and other parties.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and requirements, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Lead and mentor a small accounting team, fostering a high-performance finance function.
- Drive innovation and solutions-focused financial strategies, optimizing costs and cash flow.
- Implement financial controls and process improvements to enhance efficiency and transparency.
 
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- CPA designation
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business (Masters or MBA preferred)
- 5 to 10 years in progressive accounting and finance roles including leadership.
- Expertise in Canadian accounting standards, requirements, and tax regulations
- Strong financial and business analysis skills (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis)
- Experience preparing financial reports for executive leadership and external stakeholders
-  Advanced Excel and Power BI skills (financial modelling, pivot tables, scenario analysis)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software
- Cash flow and working capital management experience
- Ability to think strategically and drive financial decision-making
